He was preceded in death by parents Corbett and Edith Church, and biological father Ben Creed, who died in Bennett's infancy. In 1962 he married Rosemary Stephenson, of Bishop, WV. Bennett was born on Octoin Yukon, WV, the son of Corbett and Edith Church.
